This Privacy Policy explains how ReelDown ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit and use reeldown.app. By using ReelDown, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
ReelDown is designed to be privacy-friendly. We collect only the minimum technical data necessary to operate the service:
- IP Address — Automatically collected by our server for security and abuse prevention purposes.
- Browser Type & Version — Used to ensure compatibility and improve the user experience.
- Pages Visited & Referrer — Used for basic analytics to understand how users interact with the site.
- Language & Theme Preference — Stored locally in your browser (localStorage) to remember your settings between visits.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, Instagram credentials, or any other personally identifiable information.
2. What We Do NOT Collect or Store
- We do not require account registration or login of any kind.
- We do not collect or store the Instagram URLs you submit.
- We do not store downloaded media files (videos, photos, Reels) on our servers.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third-party advertisers.
- We do not use your data for profiling or targeted advertising.
- We do not ask for or store your Instagram username or password.
3. How We Use Your Information
The limited technical data we collect is used exclusively for:
- Operating and maintaining the ReelDown service
- Detecting and preventing abuse, spam, or malicious usage
- Analyzing aggregate traffic patterns to improve performance
- Ensuring server security and stability
4. Cookies & Local Storage
ReelDown uses minimal browser storage to improve your experience:
- Theme preference (dark/light mode) — stored in localStorage
- Language preference — stored in localStorage
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies that follow you across the web. Our Cloudflare integration may set a technical cookie for security purposes (bot detection), but this does not track personal behavior.
5. Third-Party Services
ReelDown uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Cloudflare — For CDN, DDoS protection, and performance optimization. Cloudflare may collect technical data per their own privacy policy.
- RapidAPI — Used to fetch Instagram media metadata. URLs are sent to the API endpoint but are not stored.
- Google Fonts — Used to load the Outfit font. Google may log font requests per their privacy policy.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any behavioral tracking tools.
6. Data Retention
We do not maintain a database of user activity. Server access logs (IP, browser, timestamp) may be retained for up to 30 days for security purposes, after which they are automatically deleted.
7. Children's Privacy
ReelDown is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.
8. Your Rights
Since we do not collect personally identifiable information, there is generally no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you have concerns about any data related to your visit, please contact us at [email protected] and we will respond within 7 business days.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of ReelDown after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
